bzGallery-FM: the Art of Digital Archiving
Inspired by Julio Torres’s Problemista, where FileMaker plays a surprising character, bzGallery-FM transforms the way you experience data and design. With a nod to the movie's critique of legacy FileMaker's capabilities, bzGallery-FM is here to prove that FileMaker can be as beautiful as it is powerful.
Julian Nadel, Beezwax President and Founder, highlights FileMaker in his blog post, “The Art of Code: FileMaker’s Integration into Problemista’s Plot”. This inspired us to create bzGallery-FM, pushing the boundaries of what today's FileMaker can look and feel like, applied to a real-world use case of managing artwork data, for art galleries or private collectors.

Features
In Problemista, FileMaker worked quietly in the background. In bzGallery-FM, it transforms into a showcase for your collection. With vivid, high-resolution previews, your artwork itsn’t just stored — it’s elevated, bringing the beauty of each piece front and center, like a masterpiece in a gallery.
Unlike the fragmented databases in Problemista, bzGallery brings everything together in a single, seamlessly synced platform. From individual artworks to entire collections, all your data is organized in one place — accessible, up-to-date, and fully integrated. Say goodbye to scattered records and missing information; with bzGallery, you can trust that your entire collection is at your fingertips whenever you need it.
Easily access detailed information about each piece in your collection, from artist and title to ownership history. With bzGallery-FM’s clean and inuitive design, the Detailed Artwork View provides a seamless experience for managing and updating your collection, making the art of cataloging as effortless as viewing the art itself.
Designed with a diverse world of art collections in mind, bzGallery offers truly unlimited customization. Tailor every field, layout, and data view to fit your unique requirements — whether tracking exhibition history or personalizing database preferences. With FileMaker you’re free to structure any catalog exactly as you need, without the constraints of a one-size-fits-all system.
Much like Alejandro in Problemista, who meticulously used FileMaker to locate each elusive art piece, bzGallery-FM empowers you to follow the journey of your collection with ease. The Ownership History feature provides a refined, comprehensive record of every transfer, sale, and exhibition. With each piece’s provenance elegantly displayed, you can ensure your collection’s story is as rich as the art itself.
FileMaker’s role in Problemista may have been understated, but bzGallery-FM gives it a stylish upgrade. The clean, modern interface transforms data management into an art form, making each interaction with your collection feel intuitive and visually engaging.
